Rail Private Rates

Introduction

You can organize private rates for different rail vendors and to assign them to different groups. For example, configure private rates for Amtrak which is offered to US based employees, and Via Rail which is offered to Canadian base employees.

Configure Rail Private Rates based on groups.

Note: Each group may have access to rail private rates where another may not have access.

Need to Know

Rail Private Rates clone over from your template as you create the site. You may need to make minor changes, such as changing to the client's discount.

Configuration

Configure Rail Private Rates

Take the following steps if your client or TMC has a private rate with Amtrak.

  1. Select Private Rates on the Services tab.

  2. Select Train Rates.

  3. Select Add a New Train Private Rate.

  4. Select check box for Activate this private rate to activate private rate.

  5. Private Rate Name: Enter Name. For example, Amtrak Private Rate.

  6. Enter the effective date range for this rate record: Not required. You can leave blank unless your client has a specific start and end date for their private rate.

  7. Select a train carrier: Select Amtrak from dropdown menu.

  8. Discount Code: Enter Customer or TMC Amtrak Discount Code.

  9. Select Save.

  10. Select Back to Private Rates.

  11. Select Train Rates Sets.

  12. Select Add A New Train Private Rate Set.

  13. Enter Name of Rate Private Rate in Private Rate Set Name. For example: Amtrak,

  14. Select Add Rates.

  15. Select the radio button next to the rate you would like to add to the set.

  16. Select Ok.

  17. Select Save.

Update Service Rules

Ensure you have applied Train Private Rate Set to the appropriate Service Rules.

Click Service Rules. for more information.

Commit Changes and Test

  1. Commit Changes.

  2. Test to ensure rates are applied properly for each group.
