Restricted Countries and Travel Alerts

Overview

Follow this guide to set up travel alerts or restrict the ability to book to a specific country(s). 

Need to Know

  • Restricted countries and travel alerts do not copy over from site/template used to create new site.

  • Both travel alerts and restricted countries are configured under Restricted Countries.

  • Travel Alerts allows user to book travel; displays a message on the Trip Review Page.

  • Restricted Countries stops user from booking and redirects user to the home page with message indicating why they are unable to proceed with booking.

  • Configure both travel alerts and restricted country based on group requirements. 

  • More than one travel alert can be created per group.

Configure Restricted Countries and Travel Alerts

Create Travel Alerts and Restricted Countries List

To create travel alerts and restricted countries:

  1. From the Partner Dashboard home page, select Settings in the Edit Site column for the site that needs updating.

  2. On the Services tab, select Restricted Countries.

  3. Select Restricted Countries Configuration List.

  4. Select Add Restricted Countries Configuration.

  5. Enter Name of the list, e.g. Restricted Countries.

  6. Select country to be restricted from the Countries List and select Add. The selected country will be added to Selected Countries list. More than one country can be added to the Selected Countries list.

  7. Select Restricted or Travel Alert.

  8. Enter message in Message to traveler regarding the restriction or travel alert to display to traveler.

  9. Select Save.

Add Restricted Countries or Travel Alerts Lists to Set

Add list(s) to an existing set, or create a new set(s), which will allow you to add to the appropriate Travel Service Rules.

  1. Select Back to Restricted Countries Configuration Management.

  2. Select Restricted Countries Configuration Sets.

  3. Select Add Restricted Countries Configuration Set.

  4. Enter a Set Name. Be specific with your naming convention, especially if you have more than one set. In this example, the Restricted Countries set will be applied to all groups.

  5. Select Add Restricted Countries.

  6. Select check box to the right of the list you would like to add to the set and select Add.

  7. Select Save.

    Below is an example displaying both travel alerts and country restrictions in the same set.

Add to Travel Service Rules and Commit Changes

  1. Go to Travel Service Rules to apply the Restricted Countries Configuration Set to the appropriate group. See Travel Service Rules for further information.

  2. Return to the Partner Dashboard and select the link to the left of the Deem logo indicating that changes are not applied.

  3. Commit changes.

  4. Test configuration to verify the country restrictions and travel alerts are working as intended.
