Alternate Airports

On this page:

Overview

You can manage the alternate airports that display for airports in a flight search. When a traveler specifies an airport, the system recognizes this as the "target" (also known as "parent") airport and provides alternate airports that are associated with this "target" or "parent" airport.

Benefits and Need to Know

  • Alternate airports can be defined based on groups. To have different alternate airports for different groups of users, you create or edit each alternate airport codes list, and then organize the lists into sets that can be assigned to groups. The same list can be added to more than one set.

  • Alternate airports copy over from site/templated used during cloning process.

Create list of alternate airports

  1. From the Partner Dashboard home page, select Settings in the Edit Site column for the site that needs updating.

  2. On the Services tab, select Alternate Airports.

  3. Select Alternate Airport List.

  4. Select Add A New Alternate Airport Code.

  5. Ensure Activate Alternate Code is automatically selected.

  6. In Target Airport Codes, enter departure or arrival airport(s) where you would like to display alternate airports. Separate airports with a semicolon.

  7. In Alternate Airport Codes, enter airport(s) to be considered as alternate airports. Separate airports with a semicolon.
Example:  If flying to or from Milwaukee, Chicago O’Hare, or Chicago Midway, you can show each location as an alternate airport to each other.

  8. Select Save.

    • Ok if you have only one alternate airport group or this is your final selection.

  7. Select Save.

  8. Add Alternate Airport set to appropriate Service Rules.

  9. On the Partner Dashboard, select the link to the left of the Deem logo indicating that changes are not applied.
