Deem Car Service - Sabre Red App FAQs

Overview

What is Deem Car Service Red App?

The Deem Car Service Red App is a web-based ground transportation reservation app in the Sabre Red® App Centre for the Sabre Travel Network®. The Red App is an evolution of the Sabre Red Workspace classic-view, scripts-based booking for ground reservations with an intuitive user interface designed to increase travel counselor speed and support client policies.

Sabre-enabled corporate and retail travel counselors can use the application to search and book black cars, limousines, taxis, shuttles, and other ground transportation reservations. When booking travel for your customer, you add a ground segment to the passenger name record (PNR) you are already managing for air and hotel.

What are the benefits of using Deem Car Service Red App?

The Deem Car Service Red App enables you to focus on your core business: providing outstanding customer service. The Red App is free to travel counselors to make bookings, and provides the following ground transportation booking features:

    • Faster booking: The Red App automatically reads flight and hotel info from the passenger name record (PNR), and automatically calculates pickup times based on flight itinerary. Reservations are made in real time. The Red App also provides instant address validation and type-ahead capability.

    • Rate shopping: Vendor prices appear on the first screen following the initial search, enabling you to choose the most cost-effective provider for any given area.

    • Informative trip calculations: The Deem Car Service Red App provides drive-time and distance calculations for a trip, based on time of day and traffic patterns.

    • Applies corporate preferences and policies: The Red App stores corporate client vendor preferences and payment preferences for quick and visible reference, with real-time policy updates — no scripts required.

    • Quickly enables repeat trips: The Red App stores and can quickly reference the most recent pick-up and drop-off locations by traveler.

    • Train new agents quickly: Management can train new agents faster using the Red App's intuitive interface rather than deploying PNR scripts.

How does the Deem Car Service Red App differ from Sabre scripts?

The most important difference with the Deem Car Service Red App is improved agent workflow that minimizes data entry and customer interaction. Once the configuration is optimized to retrieve PNR data, the Red App reduces keystrokes and phone calls compared to legacy Sabre scripts.

Practically every piece of information required to book transportation using scripts can be preconfigured into the Red App piecemeal (as the information comes in) or from a separately-maintained profile. The Red App is designed to read formatted data from the PNR based on your requirements, and populate the data seamlessly into the booking tool — including the current itinerary, passenger contact information, accounting/UDID fields, FOP, and so on.

How does the Deem Car Service Red App work?

When booking travel for your customer, you start the application with an active passenger name record (PNR) you are already using for managing air and hotel. The application automatically transmits all necessary reservation data to the ground transportation provider. Confirmations are returned directly into the application, which then writes-back the ground segment into the PNR.

You must have an active PNR open in your Sabre Red Workspace before launching the Deem Car Service Red App, because the application draws information about the passenger you are booking from the PNR.

How do I activate the App for my agency?

After your request in the app store is complete and approved by Deem Car Service, you will see the Review Terms notice in the Deem Car Service Red App Centre indicating your purchase is pending approval. See Administering Deem Car Service - Sabre Red App for instructions.
