Booking Deem Car Service - Sabre Red App

Make sure you have an active and committed passenger name record (PNR) in your Sabre Red workspace before launching the Deem Car Service Red App. For instructions on launching the Red App, see Launching Deem Car Service - Sabre Red App.

Starting a Ground Transportation Booking

Click the Book tab to show the booking screen, and choose the service type (such as Sedan) from the Service Type dropdown menu:

Your customer's passenger information — the primary passenger name, and number of passengers — is automatically loaded from the PNR. You can make changes to this information by clicking the Edit link.

Add other passengers by selecting a number for the Number of Passengers dropdown menu, and clicking Enter Other Passenger Names to enter their names.

Click Special Requests to add special passenger requests, such as "Spanish-speaking driver".

Entering Pickup and Drop-off Information

If information about the traveler's origination airport, destination airport, rail and hotel is available in the PNR, the information appears in the available options to base your pickup and drop-off locations:

For example, you can select a flight from the information retrieved from the PNR to determine the pickup/drop-off address or pickup time. If you pick a hotel in the PNR, the Red App supplies the appropriate hotel address.

If you select a flight, the Flight Data dialog appears showing the airport, destination airport, airline, flight number, departure date, and departure time, and you can edit this information before clicking Save to save the information.

If you select a hotel or address, the Address Details dialog appears with the address, location name, and apartment/suite/floor information, and you can edit this information before clicking Save to save the information.

You can also enter an address for the pickup and drop-off locations; as you type, suggestions appear for addresses you've entered before. The Red App validates and verifies the address after you enter it.

Adding Additional Stops

In the Pickup Location section, you can also click the Add Additional Stops link to add additional stops on the route. In both the Pickup and Drop-off sections, you can click Special Instructions to add instructions for the driver, such as "Meet at the main lobby".

Entering the Pickup Time

You have several choices for entering the pickup time. If the destination is the airport for a flight, you can choose Calculate pickup time from the Selection Method dropdown menu. The pickup time is automatically calculated based on the flight information and appears in a box to the right of the Selection Method dropdown menu:

For example, you could select Calculate pickup time as shown above, and also select the number of hours to arrive at the airport before departure. This calculation is based on historical data from Google for the route.

Tip: If the Drive Time or Total Distance in the calculation box seem wrong, you should check your pickup and drop-off location entries. You can't click Continue if the distance is over 500 miles.
You can also choose Enter a date and time from the Selection Method dropdown menu and enter the date and time.

The application integrates Google Maps to show the route and calculates the drive time using historical data from Google.

After entering the trip information, click Continue to see the ground providers.

"As Directed" Ride

To book an “As Directed” ride, enter the pick up location information, then select “As directed by passenger” and enter the expected number of hours the car will be needed.  “As Directed” will indicate to the limo provider that the final destination will be given to the driver during the ride.  You can also indicate the final drop off location if known.

Selecting Ground Providers

After entering the trip information and clicking Continue, a list of providers appears:

The list of available vehicles or providers is based on the preferred merchants and rates available to the corporation for which you are booking the transportation. If unavailable, Sabre's preferred merchants appear in the list. We use ERQ – External Rate Query – to pull real-time pricing from the providers. Flat rates appear first in the list, sorted from lowest to highest, and then non-flat rates appear.

Tip: You can also change the type of vehicle in the Service Type dropdown menu, which refreshes the provider list to show providers offering that type of vehicle.

Click Select to select a provider in the search results list.

To see more information about a provider's rates, click the provider's name.

Tip: A trip summary appears on the left side of the screen, and you can click the subheadings (such as Passenger Info or Pickup Location) to change the trip information.

Finishing the Booking

After selecting a provider, a screen appears with accounting and billing information. If you have Cost Center and Department Codes, you can enter them here, along with an Employee ID.

You can select a credit card for the reservation, or direct billing (if enabled by the provider). You can also enter an email address to receive confirmation emails. You can also enter email addresses to receive trip status updates.

Click Book Reservation to submit the reservation. The reservation is either accepted or declined by the provider immediately. After the reservation is accepted, the Confirmation Status screen appears showing the reservation details.

If you scroll the Confirmation screen to the bottom, you can click the Book Round Trip button to book a round trip using the same information (reversing the pickup and drop-off locations), or click New Reservation to start a new booking.
