Affiliate Connect Browser Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Note: The frequently asked questions (FAQs) in this section are for providers who use an Internet browser to receive ("farm in") ride reservations using Affiliate Connect. For the complete set of FAQs, see Deem Affiliate Connect Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Introduction

What is Deem Affiliate Connect?

Deem Affiliate Connect is a reservation exchange network for ground transportation service providers. It enables providers to send ("farm out") and receive ("farm in") ride reservations to and from other providers affiliated with the network. Providers share the revenue from a ride.

For providers using integrated back-office systems, transferred reservations appear automatically in the provider's back-office system. If you are a provider using one of the integrated back-office systems, consult the documentation for your back-office system. For information on how to use Deem Car Fleet Management, see Using Affiliate Connect with Deem Car Fleet Management

Providers without a back-office system or using other systems can use an Internet browser to receive reservations and send status updates and final pricing, as described in this topic.

What are the benefits of using Affiliate Connect?

Affiliate Connect improves a provider's bottom line by:

  • Extending your reach: As a provider, you can extend your reach to areas you don't cover by farming out ride reservations to affiliate providers in those areas, and share the revenue with those providers.
  • Expanding your business: As a provider you can expand your business by accepting ride reservations from clients of providers in other areas.
  • Saving time and eliminating errors: By automating the transfer of ride reservations, Affiliate Connect helps eliminate data entry errors and enables faster responses.

How does Affiliate Connect work?

Affiliate Connect enables ground providers to farm-out ride reservations to affiliate providers and share the revenue from these transactions. The following steps illustrate the "life" of a sample ride reservation "farmed out" by a ground provider to an affiliate provider (using arbitrary rates for illustrative purposes):

  1. The ground provider sends a ride reservation to an affiliate provider for a negotiated rate of $60.
  2. The affiliate provider accepts the ride reservation for $60.
  3. The ride is completed and closed out. The affiliate provider charges the ground provider $60 (plus any additional charges, such as parking, airport fees, and tolls).
  4. The ground provider bills the client $100 (plus the additional charges).
  5. Deem collects $1 from the ground provider and $1 from the affiliate provider.

Fees and Charges

Is there a setup fee for providers?

Yes. Deem charges a one-time setup fee. This fee is billed to the credit card submitted during the registration process.

Is there a fee per ride reservation?

Yes, but only for a completed ride. Deem charges $1 per ride to the provider that sends a reservation, and $1 to the affiliate provider that receives the reservation and completes the ride.

How are providers charged the reservation fee?

A provider supplies a credit card when signing up for Affiliate Connect, and Deem charges the credit card each month for all transferred rides associated with that provider.
