Prerequisites: Before beginning the configurationBefore starting, you must have the following:
- Agency / TMC / Company’s Travel agency or travel manager's direct bill number for the car rental vendoragency.
- Determine if the car rental vendor requires a unique identifier, or if the traveler’s loyalty number will be passed to the global distribution system (GDS. If Hertz is the ). With some car rental vendoragencies, the traveler’s loyalty number will NOT be is not passed to the GDS if the reservation is a direct bill.
Configuration Steps:
- Access Deem's Partner Dashboard at https://console.reardencommerce.com using your dashboard User Name and Password.
- The Sites | Overview page is displayed. Select a site by clicking the Settings link.
- The Settings Tab | Overview page is displayed. Click the Services tab.
- The Services | Overview page is displayed. Click the Travel link in the Travel section of the page.
- The Services | Travel page is displayed. Click the Private Rates link.
- The Services | Private Rates page is displayed. Click the Rental Car Discount Codes link.
- The Services | Rental Car Discount page is displayed. Select an existing code from the displayed list by clicking the code link, or click the Add a New Rental Car Discount Code link to add a new code.
- The Services | Edit or the Services | Add page is displayed. Complete the top portion of the page.
- Enter a Discount Code Name to be easily recognizable on a list.
- Select the Activate this private rate checkbox.
- Select a car rental company from the drop down list and Enter a car rental discount number, if appropriate.
- Request rates that are lower, if available: Select either Yes or No.
- Enter an override rate code, if any, if appropriate.
- Scroll down further to the Rental Car Direct Bill Information section of the page. Complete the information beginning with deciding if the user’s ID is to be overridden by the direct bill number.
Refer to the following table and screen shot when the Override user’s id with direct bill number field is set to YES:
NOTE: If the Car Rental vendor is Hertz, set the Override user’s id with direct bill number field to YES. Hertz requires the direct billing number replace the customers Loyalty number.

Setting Up Discount Codes
To set up the discount codes for the car rental agency, follow these steps:
- Configure the travel services as described in Configuring Travel Services: Click the Services tab to show the Services | Overview page, and click the Travel link in the Travel section. The Services | Travel page appears.
- Click the Private Rates link, and follow the instructions in Configuring Private Rates.
- Click the Rental Car Discount Codes link, and follow the instructions in Rental Car Discount Codes. Keep in mind that some agencies require the direct billing number to replace the customer's loyalty number. Choose one of the following for the "Override user’s id with direct bill number" option:
- For agencies that require the direct billing number to replace the customer's loyalty number, choose Yes. The traveler’s loyalty number will not be sent to the car rental agency in the passenger name record (PNR).
- The "Enter unique GDS format required for direct bill" option is replaced by "Enter a direct bill number".
- Enter the customer’s direct bill number provided by the rental
- For agencies that require the direct billing number to replace the customer's loyalty number, choose Yes. The traveler’s loyalty number will not be sent to the car rental agency in the passenger name record (PNR).
