 There are two areas you can access to impersonate a user. This document outlines these two areas.

  • Test programing by impersonating your test account

  • User reporting an issue - You will want to test the reported issue in your test account as well as ask for permission and test through the user’s account.  There are issues that occur due to client profile data such as invalid credit card, membership program issues.

    • It is also nice when opening a case to have screen shots and comparisons of both the clients as well as your test account.  If the issue is only happening to the clients account it is nice to know when opening the case.  You can then add that notation to the Deem Support Case as well as the screenshot.

Impersonate - Edit User

Accessing through Edit User is a great way to impersonate, as all of the user details are available to you if you need to open a Deem Support Case.  

  • Click User tab

  • Click Edit User

  • Search for user account using one or more of the below search options

    • First Name:

    • Last Name:

    • User Name:

    • Email:

    • External ID:

    • Account Type: Leave as All

    • You can refine the search further by selecting Active users or Manually added users. If you do not select Active users, inactive and active users will be returned.

Note: You can enter partial search criteria such.  Such as the first letter of the first name and last name.  Deem will look for account that starts with the criteria you have entered.

Note: If the account contains fewer then 200 accounts you can click on Search

  • Click account name

  • Click Impersonate

  • New window will open, yet Deem console will remain open

Impersonate - Impersonate a User 

  • Click User tab

  • Click Impersonate User

  • Search for user account using one or more of the below search options

    • First Name:

    • Last Name:

    • User Name:

    • Email:

    • Employee ID:

    • Account Type: Leave as All

Will user receive a notification that you have impersonated their account?

No, the client does not receive notification

If I book a reservation while impersonating a user is it an active valid booking?

Yes, when you impersonate a user account you are acting as if you are the user.  If you update their traveler profile or purchase a trip will be the same as if they were to have done it themselves. 

Can we impersonate a user account if the user has not logged in and completed in initial activation process?

Yes, the admin console bypasses the initial activation process and you will have the ability to log into the account.  You will not see the activation pages when you impersonate a user.

Do I need to impersonate a user to update their profile?

No, unless you are updating notifications (flight status updates), you can update user profiles through Edit User under the User tab.
