After clicking the Services tab, clicking Policy Display, the Services | Display Management page displays.    Click the Display Configuration List link, here you can add or edit a display configuration. The Add or Edit page includes the Air Shopping Display Configuration. Enter or choose the following:

Configuring Search Results

  1. What mileage radius should the system use to offer alternate airports and cities when a user searches for a single airport or city? Enter the radius of miles to specify the area around the "target" or "parent" airport or city in which alternative airports will appear. Choose the unit of measure for the distance. We recommend using 60 – 75 miles.
  2. Select a method for shopping airline itineraries: Choose GDS, ITA, or Use super domain setting from the dropdown menu.
    1. Note:  We recommend using ITA or the super domain setting (also set to ITA).
  3. Select a method for shopping airline itineraries with a non-US origin or destination: Choose With GDS price confirmation or Without GDS price confirmation (recommended) from the dropdown menu.
  4. Enabled schedule based shopping for airline itineraries: Choose YesNo, or Use superdomain setting from the dropdown menu.
  5. Default search method: Choose By priceBy schedule, or Use superdomain setting from the dropdown menu.
    1. Note:  We recommend searching by price.  Defaulting to schedule can make the search appear slower since it takes the system much longer to parse in schedule results from the GDS whereas price search is much faster and the results render more quickly.
  6. Select the earliest limit of the time range that will be used to search all US domestic and Canadian airline availability based on the user’s requested time: Times range from 1 hour to 1 day, in hour increments. We recommend 2 hours.
  7. Select the latest limit of the time range that will be used to search all US domestic and Canadian airline availability based on the user’s requested time: Times range from 1 hour to 1 day, in hour increments. We recommend 2 hours.
  8. Select the earliest limit of the time range that will be used to search all non-US domestic and non-Canadian airline availability based on the user’s requested time:  Times range from 1 hour to 1 day, in hour increments. We recommend 4 or 5 hours due to fewer available flights.
  9. Select the latest limit of the time range that will be used to search all non-US domestic and non-Canadian airline availability based on the user’s requested time: Times range from 1 hour to 1 day, in hour increments. We recommend 4 or 5 hours due to fewer available flights.

Enabling Shopping and Fare Types

  1. Enable shopping for unrestricted fare type: Click the checkbox to display unrestricted fares.
  2. Enable shopping for refundable fare type: Click the checkbox to display refundable fares.
  3. Select default fare type: Choose Lowest Available, Fares with no restrictions, or Fares that allow refunds
Note:  A refundable fare may have some fare restrictions such as advance purchase or day of week application and in some cases may have a refund penalty but the fare in general is partially/entirely refundable. An unrestricted fare has no fare restrictions such as advance purchase or day of week application but is fully refundable.
  4. Enable shopping for First Class Cabin: Click the Name checkbox if this class of service will appear. Choose "Use default" to use the default name ("First"), or "Use custom" and enter a custom name in the field.
  5. Enable shopping for Business Class Cabin: Click the Name checkbox if this class of service will appear. Choose "Use default" to use the default name ("Business"), or "Use custom" and enter a custom name in the field.
  6. Enable shopping for Coach Class Cabin: Click the Name checkbox if this class of service will appear. Choose "Use default" to use the default name ("Coach"), or "Use custom" and enter a custom name in the field.
  7. Enable shopping for Premium Coach Cabin: Click the Name checkbox if this class of service will appear. Choose "Use default" to use the default name ("Premium"), or "Use custom" and enter a custom name in the field.
Note: These options enable the display of the classes of service – they don't govern policy. See Adding or Editing a Travel Policy for details on travel policies.
  8. Select Premium Coach airlines: Click the first airline that can offer Premium Coach, and hold down Control (CTRL) to click other airlines in the selection box.
    1. Note:  The best practice is to *not* have any airline selected and let the system find the most appropriate flight options based on availability.

    2. Not selecting airlines will allow the system to best search for Premium Coach as a preferred cabin class and return if available, otherwise return next best cabin class.

    3. With airlines selected, the search will fail for markets that do not have Premium Coach service or return only a small subset of flight options.

  9. Enable shopping for disabled cabin classes: Choose Yes to show disabled cabin classes, or No.
