After clicking the Services tab, clicking Policy Display, the Services | Display Management page displays.    Click Click the Display Configuration List link, here you can add or edit a display configuration. The Add or Edit page includes the Hotel Shopping Display Configuration.  Enter Enter or choose the following:

  1. How you want to display Hotel results to your users? Choose one of the following:

  • "Option 1: Preferred and non-preferred Hotels are displayed together." With this choice, users see all the hotel properties at once. Preferred properties are automatically displayed first.

  • "Option 2: Sort properties into tabs." After selecting this choice, browser tab options appear for displaying hotel properties on up to three browser tabs:

    1. How many tabs do you want? Click the 1, 2, or 3 radio button. You can use up to three tabs.

    2. Enter the tab names in the empty text fields under "Tab 1", "Tab 2", and "Tab 3". Users will see these tab names at the top of each tab.

    3. For each of the rows numbered 1-5, choose a hotel type in the Hotel Types dropdown list (such as Corporate preferred Hotels, Agency preferred Hotels, etc.), and

    1. click the checkbox for the tab on which it should appear.

      • Agency Preferred Hotels: These hotels are loaded using either a manual or automated feed by special arrangement with Deem.

      • Agency Preferred Chains: These hotels are loaded at the superdomain level into the Partner Dashboard by a superdomain administrator.

      • Corporate Preferred Hotels: These hotels are loaded at the site level – see Configuring Private Rates.

      • Corporate Preferred Chains: These hotels are loaded at the site level using hotel chain preferences – see Managing Vendor Preferences

Note: We recommend that you use at least one tab for the Non-preferred Hotels choice in the Hotel Types dropdown menu.

  • Option 3: Sort Properties into separate categories.” When this option is selected, you will be able to create categories (max 3), set up which properties will be shown in each category, and decide the display order of properties. These categories will be searchable using the Filters section. Once you click on this option, the following fields need to be filled:

i. How many categories do you want? Click the 1, 2, or 3 radio button. You can set up to 3 categories.

ii. Label the categories with something your users will understand. These labels will be visible to your users when making their selections.

iii. Check the boxes to select the hotel types for each category.

Tip: You can rearrange the order properties are shown to your users by using the hotels dropdowns on the left.

Note: We recommend that at least one category includes “Non-preferred Hotels.”

2. Select a method for shopping hotel inventory: Choose GDSAncillary, Both GDS and Ancillary, or Use super domain setting from the dropdown menu.

3. Allow a credit card with expiration date before hotel stay to be used as hotel guarantee:

Choose Yes to allow using as a guarantee for late arrival a credit card that has an expiration date before the anticipated hotel stay, or choose No.

4. Designate the mileage radius that the system should use when searching for hotels: Enter the number of miles away from the "target" hotel city that alternative hotel cities will be displayed.  Also select the unit of measure for the distance. We recommend 60 – 75 miles.

6. Select default hotel search radius: Select the number from the dropdown list to use as the default search radius. The list will include the radius entered in "Designate the mileage radius that the system should use when searching for hotels."

7. Display the following message to users when they choose a private rate hotel that can only be booked directly by the travel agency: Enter in text that will appear to the user if the selected hotel can be booked only directly by the travel agency.  Don't use travel lingo or HTML code.

8. Check real-time availability of hotels? Choose Yes or No.

9. Get real-time pricing for hotels? Choose Yes or No.

10. Enable Trip Advisor reviews: Choose YesNo, or Use superdomain setting from the dropdown menu.

11. Trip Advisor disclaimer: Enter up to 500 characters of HTML or plain text to display at the bottom of the list of comments users have provided for the hotel. For example, the disclaimer can be “The comments made by travelers do not reflect the company’s views” or something similar.

12. Allow out of policy hotel rooms to be bookable? 

i. Choose Yes to allow users to book out-of-policy hotel rooms.

ii. Choose No to not allow an out-of-policy hotel room. The Select button is not activated when such a hotel room is chosen.
