Deem "K" Release Executive Summary

Deem continues to improve our site administrator and agency experiences with key travel site enhancements that help corporations and TMCs manage the travel buying process.

In our K Release, we enhance our Pre-Trip Approval (PTA) functionality by offering new PNR Editor scripts that allow the agency to document the reservation with additional remarks at time of purchase based on the PTA action required (i.e. 5P-PTA PENDING).  We have also added a new PNR Editor script that allows the agency to configure a specific queue based on the PTA state (i.e. queue all PNRs for auto ticketing unless it is pending approval). These new Pre-Trip PNR Editor enhancements streamline the PTA process by allowing your agents to focus only on those activities requiring their immediate attention. 

We are also enhancing the Deem Travel experience on mobile devices by improving our Dynamic Site Messaging (DSM) functionality by increasing the character count for messages from 150 to 250.

Travel Enhancements

Pre-trip Approval (PTA)  Enhancements

A new PENDING APPROVAL tag has been added to our PTA fields that allow our agency partners to add additional PNR remarks and queue place Pre-Trip reservations based on their approval state (i.e. Pending approval).   With the addition of this new PENDING APPROVAL tag, we now offer more PNR Editor scripts to support agency back office processes.

Pre-Trip Approval PNR Editor fields now available: 

  • Pending* (NEW)
  • Approved
  • Declined
  • Expired

Site Admin Experience

To add a custom PNR Editor for PTA configurations, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Services tab and click the small Travel link.   
  • Click the Agency Configuration link. 
  • Click the Custom PNR link. 
  • Click the Add A New PNR Configuration link to add a new configuration. 
  • The Add New PNR Configuration page appears where you will enter the following:  

    • Enter the name of the set, for example Pre Trip Approval.
    • Click Add PNR Line and enter the line number in the Line No. field.
    • Select the Pre Trip Approval in the PNR Field Type from the dropdown menu. 
    • Enter the appropriate script or text in the Custom PNR Requirement box, and choose Script (JavaScript) or Text from the Requirement Type dropdown menu.

    • Click one or more checkboxes for the global distribution systems (GDS) you are using.
    • Click Save at the bottom of the page to save your changes.


Mobile Pre-Trip Notification to Traveler

Deem has improved the mobile pre-trip approval workflow to include messaging on the purchase page as well as the option for the traveler to add a note to their approver   

Benefit: User has more awareness when PTA is required and the ability to message their approver while booking on a mobile device.

End User Experience:

Dynamic Site Messaging (DSM) Mobile Improvements

You've asked for it and we listened!  In our K Release, we enhanced your ability to message your travelers by increasing the number of characters in a Dynamic Site Message displayed on a mobile devices from 150 to 250. Configuration setup remains the same, you simply have an increased number of characters to work with.

Delta Comfort + Availability and Seat Selection Improvements

Delta has introduced a new Comfort+ booking option as part of their main cabin or premium economy class fares. Traveler will now be able to search and select Delta Comfort+ fares and seat options on applicable Delta flights.

Benefit:  Deem provides travelers with additional options when booking Delta with this new set of branded fares and seat options.

End user Experience: 



Site Admin Experience:  Ensure that Premium Economy is turned on for Delta in the dashboard.

As previously shared, our Deem Developers and Engineers have been tirelessly working on improving our traveler experience and are making iterative updates behind the scenes. These improvements bring a new innovative look and streamlined travel process to your Deem travel site that we know will please you!  As a matter of fact, a survey conducted around our new user interface during GBTA in July shows that 91% of respondents rated Deem’s new user experience much better or better than our competitor’s tools.
