Q. When is Deem Ground going away?

A. Deem Ground is going away December 17, 2023.

 

Q. Why is Deem Ground going away?

A. At both Deem and Travelport, our focus is providing the best travel retail experience for all of our customers. When we looked at our ground offering, we felt that our customers would benefit greatly from the product offering at GroundSpan and decided to partner with them to provide you with a world-class ground solution. By entering into this partnership, it allows Deem and Travelport to focus on delivering the best modern retailing platform and booking tools to our customers.

 

Q. How do I move to GroundSpan?

A. Since GroundSpan is already integrated with all the vendors Deem Ground was supporting and has preferred status with all the leading TMCs, the transition over the next 90 days will be painless and there will be no gaps. The GroundSpan team is currently working with the Deem team to mirror your existing set up from the Deem Ground tools.  Please feel free to reach out to the GroundSpan team to enhance your current experience or simply review your existing set up.  Over the next 90 days, a GroundSpan representative will be reaching out to introduce themselves, but if you have immediate set up questions please email the head of GroundSpan implementations and support: Ketna Patel Kpatel@GroundSpan.com.

 

Q. Will GroundSpan have the same ground content that is available on Deem Ground today?

A. Yes, in addition, GroundSpan has a vast global network of operators so you'll be getting even more content than before.

Q. Which countries are supported by GroundSpan?

A. GroundSpan can support all existing preferred vendor partners and has no geographical or currency limitations.  

 

Q. What if I do not move to GroundSpan?

A. Deem Ground will no longer be available from December 17, 2023 so, unfortunately, you won't be able to continue using it after that date. GroundSpan will be our preferred ground content partner and are excited to welcome you to their market leading platform. Q. What will happen to my active reservations after December 17, 2023 ?

A. As the Deem Ground platform will shut down on December 17, 2023 any active bookings will need to be cancelled and rebooked. GroundSpan and Deem will work with you in advance to help reduce the number of open/active trips ahead of the shut down date.

 

Q. Will GroundSpan be available on the Deem OBT?

A. Not immediately, but GroundSpan has an expansive suite of web tools which should more than satisfy your needs until fully integrated solutions are in place.  If you have any questions about these tools or want to learn more about GroundSpan, please feel free with to email the GroundSpan team at support@GroundSpan.com.  

 

Q. Does GroundSpan have or support GDS booking tools?

A. Yes, GroundSpan is a neutral ground transportation platform that is leading the category, working with thousands of corporate clients, integrated with all the GDS systems, and has existing partnerships with all the leading TMCs.  

 

Q. Will GroundSpan support active segments?

A. No, segments are passive with a similar structure and format. Segments also can be customized. 

 

Q. What happens to my existing bookings?

A. We will fulfill all active bookings that occur before December 17, 2023.
