Hybrid option A - Search via Southwest Direct Access (SDA), book via SDA or GDS

  1. Configuration for this option is made via the Ancillary Source feature within Agency Settings

  2. Select Add Ancillary Source if you do not have an existing Southwest Ancillary Source or select the existing Southwest Ancillary Source name to to change/modify the existing setting

  3. Complete the Ancillary Source section with the following information:

    1. Source Name: create an easily recognizable name that describes the functionality. Suggestion: WN via SDA or GDS

    2. Source: select Web: Southwest from the drop-down menu

    3. Southwest ID: add a valid SWABIZ id

    4. Would you like the system to add ancillary passive segments to your primary GDS?

      1. Yes, system generated ← recommended option; Deem will create a PNR with Passive GDS segments for agency tracking and invoicing

      2. No, do not add passive segments to primary GDS ← when selected, this will not create a PNR or air segments; some TMCs select this option to avoid paying GDS passive segment fees.

    5. Is GDS fare validation required?

      1. Yes ← recommended option

      2. No

    6. Always book via GDS?

      1. Yes ← do not select for this Hybrid option

      2. No ← recommended option; select this option to expose the following setting: “Minimum Cost Savings required to allow Southwest booking”

    7. Minimum Cost Savings required to allow Southwest booking ← this setting is amazing! This allows comparison shopping between GDS rates vs. SDA rates; booking is made via the appropriate channel based on the Amount threshold you define.

      1. Amount field ← set a baseline savings value to determine if Deem should book Southwest via the GDS or SDA.

        1. When the Southwest airfare for the selected flights is equal to or less than the amount defined here, the reservation is made via the GDS (Active segments)

        2. When the Southwest airfare for the selected flights is greater than the amount defined here, the reservation is made via SDA (Passive segments)

      2. Currency field ← System Default value is United States Dollar; use the drop-down menu to select another currency comparison value

    8. GDS Source (drop-down menu)

      1. Select the appropriate GDS for your agency: Amadeus, Apollo, Sabre, Worldspan

    9. When Amadeus is selected, a secondary field displays to enter your Amadeus Office ID

    10. When Apollo, Sabre, or Worldspan is selected, a secondary field displays for TA Group

      1. Select ExternalApollo when the GDS source is Apollo

      2. Select ExternalSabreNew when the GDS source is Sabre

      3. Select ExternalWorldspan when the GDS source is Worldspan

    11. Pseudo-City Code

      1. Add the Pseudo-City Code (PCC) for Apollo, Sabre, or Worldspan

      2. Note: this does not appear when Amadeus is selected as a GDS source

    12. Default Queue: where do you want Deem to deliver these bookings? Tell us the queue and delivery instructions here.

    13. Airline Private Rate Codes: optional, use when needed

    14. Provide alternate email address where Southwest confirmation email will be sent ← recommended option when your agency has a shared, generic email address.

  4. Click the Save button.

Hybrid option B - Search via Southwest Direct Access (SDA), book GDS only

  1. Configuration for this option is made via the Ancillary Source feature within Agency Settings

  2. Select Add Ancillary Source if you do not have an existing Southwest Ancillary Source or select the existing Southwest Ancillary Source name to to change/modify the existing setting

  3. Complete the Ancillary Source section with the following information:

    1. Source Name: create an easily recognizable name that describes the functionality. Suggestion: WN SDA search GDS book

    2. Source: select Web: Southwest from the drop-down menu

    3. Southwest ID: add a valid SWABIZ id

    4. Would you like the system to add ancillary passive segments to your primary GDS?

      1. Yes, system generated ← n/a; Deem will only create active PNR segments in the GDS

      2. No, do not add passive segments to primary GDS ← recommended option; Deem will only create active PNR segments in the GDS

    5. Is GDS fare validation required?

      1. Yes ← recommended option

      2. No

    6. Always book via GDS?

      1. Yes ← recommended option; select this option to exclusively book Southwest in your GDS

      2. No ← do not select for this Hybrid option

    7. GDS Source (drop-down menu)
