About the Release Notes

The Deem release notes provide useful technical information about the latest release. For each release, the notes provide:

  • A high-level description of the release, including major changes and enhancements.

  • Instructions to help you get started with set-up and administration (when applicable).

Enhancements for 2019.2.1

Virtual Payment Solution for Hotel

  • Description: Deem now offers a virtual payment option that removes the need for a physical credit card when booking travel. Virtual Pay generates a unique credit card number for each transaction and is linked to a specific dollar amount and service type. The solution is integrated with Conferma and the client’s banking provider to issue a one-time unique virtual card per transaction with a predetermined spending limit per identified hotel supplier.

  • Benefit: Deem’s Virtual Payment Solution will improve the traveler experience, provide an integrated booking process, capture key reporting elements necessary for reconciliation and provide robust fraud protection.

  • Site Admin Experience: The virtual payment card requires Deem configuration changes and an account with Conferma. For more information, please contact Deem Support at support.deem.com.

Configuration for Dynamic Air Policy Assessment

  • Description: The Deem Partner Dashboard (administration console) allows for the configuration of the earliest and latest time limits that will be used to evaluate flight policy compliance. For example, on a site configured to use a 2 hour limit, a user searching for flights departing at 9:00 am will have the policy enforcing flight determined based on a flight departure time between 7:00 am and 11:00 am. A new configuration is now available that allows for dynamically assessing the earliest and latest time limit used, based on the user's selected flights. For example, on a site configured to use a 2 hour limit, a user searching for flights departing at 9:00 am who ultimately selects a flight departing at 8:00 pm will have the policy enforcing option determined based on a flight departure time between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm.

  • Benefit: Users will have the benefit of lower cost and in-policy flight suggestions that are contextual to the flight selected by the user from the search result options.

  • Site Admin Experience: The configuration is available as an option within the Travel Policy section of the Deem Partner Dashboard (administration console). The configuration is displayed as "Apply policy window to user's search window?", which defaults to yes. When set to no, the new feature for dynamic air policy assessment will be enabled.

    • Click Services > Travel Policy > Policy List > Policy Name Link

      • Scroll down the page to the “Flight Policy” Section and then locate “Apply policy window to user’s search window?”

      • This will default to “Yes”. To enable this feature, select the No radio button.

Enhanced out-of-policy and lower cost flight options

  • Description: Deem has been enhanced to provide users with alternative flights when there are lower cost options available or the selected flight is out-of-policy. A new popup modal screen will be displayed after the inbound return flight is selected that displays a list of up to ten options. Users will be prompted to select a new flight or continue with their original selection.

  • Benefit: Proactively displaying alternative lower cost and in-policy options provides users with intuitive and clear access to corporate policy and compliant selections.

  • Site Admin Experience: No site admin experience is required.

Deem Mobile App Single-Sign-On (SSO)

  • Description: Currently, Deem Work Fource customers configured for SSO require the traveler to establish a separate mobile app password for login to the Deem Mobile App. The new feature update enables Deem to configure and enable most companies using SSO on the web-based Deem Work Fource platform to also use SSO for login on the Deem Mobile App.

  • Benefit: Once configured and integrated, users will have a seamless login experience across devices, removing the need for a separate mobile login.

  • Site Admin Experience: Mobile SSO within the Deem Mobile App requires configuration and integration. For more information, please contact Deem Support at support.deem.com.

Display of Hotel Taxes and Fees on Trip Review Page

  • Description: Hotel taxes and fees were previously displayed within a mouse-over tool tip on the trip review page. This information is now included within the main cost summary section of the trip review page.

  • Benefit: Users have immediate and intuitive visual access to the hotel taxes and fees.

  • Site Admin Experience: No site admin experience is required.

Sun Country Airlines Added to Instant Purchase Airline Carriers

  • Description: Sun Country Airlines (SY) has converted to an Instant Purchase carrier. Deem has made the associated changes to the purchase flow for this carrier.

  • Benefit: Users have the option to book a flight on Sun Country Airlines with the appropriate purchase flow experience.

  • Site Admin Experience: No site admin experience is required.

Additional Countries Available for Deem Mobile App SMS Notifications

  • Description: The Deem Mobile App allows users to configure SMS notifications for flight status updates. Support for SMS messages to phone numbers within Australia, South Africa, Egypt, Switzerland, India, and China have been added.

  • Benefit: Users are able to enter phone numbers for these additional countries while configuring SMS flight status notifications in their profile.

  • Site Admin Experience: No site admin experience is required.
