Enhancements for 2018.2.0 (July, 2018)

Share Trip

  • Description: Deem has added the ability for a user to be able to email itinerary options to other people.  This will be especially useful for delegates who shop on behalf of travelers.  They can now select the options they believe the travelers would be most interested in, and email them to travelers as potential options.  The email will be sent from the email address stored in the profile of the user capturing the options.  So when the traveler responds to the email, it will go directly to the delegate.
  • This new functionality is supported for one-way, round-trip, and multi-city itineraries.
  • The user can share different fare tiers and different cabin classes to be able to provide a full variety of options with a traveler.  The user can even modify the dates to show different options for different dates.
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required

On the last leg of a trip, the user can select Share Trip to begin the "Share Trip" experience.

When the user selects Share Trip a modal is opened where they can start their email and select which options they want to add to the trip.  They can add more outbound options or just additional return options by clicking on the links at the bottom of the modal.

The user can go through and add up to 8 flight itinerary options to a single email.  Travelers can continue to share more trips by sending subsequent emails.

If the user happens to close the modal and then wants to recover all the shared trips they have been collecting, they can easily just go back by clicking the View Shared Trips link.

The traveler will then receive an email where they can select their desired flight option.

The traveler can then notify the sender which flight selection they desire.  Again, since the email is sent from the user's email who originated the email, the reply goes directly to them.

The arranger then receives the email with the notes from the traveler with their desired flight.  The arranger can then go back to the site and complete the booking as requested.

Improved Flight Navigation

  • Description:  When a user is looking for flight options and wants to look into different outbound flight, there is now a new link that will take them directly back to their original search results without the user having to complete a new search.
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required

Seat Map Enhancements

  • Description: Newly designed seat maps are now available.  The design team focused on making the legend more understandable so the user can more clearly know the meaning of each seat and whether they can select it or not.
Please Note:  Seat maps will be read only when "Basic" fares are selected because airlines do not allow advanced seat assignments for that selection.
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required

The link to the seat map has also been redesigned to make it easier to discover for the user.

The layout and legend have been completely redesigned to make it clearer to the user which seats are available, which are premium, which are unavailable.

Facebook Messenger Integration

  • Description:  The integration connects traveler’s Facebook Messenger app to their live Deem account.  Once a traveler links their account, for any flight booked, the traveler will then receive a check-in reminder 24 hours before their flight.  They can select to Check-In from the app and will be directed to the check-in link for the departing airline the following day.

    Flight Notifications

Anytime there is a delay, gate change, or cancellation for a booked flight, the system automatically sends a notification to the traveler via the Facebook Messenger notification service.

  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Available at this time.  In order to enable Facebook Messenger, please contact Deem Support and identify the sites you wish to enable.  Support will then enable and provide you instructions you can share with users for linking their Deem Account to the Messenger app along with all of the FAQ's associated.

HelpMe

  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required.  Questions about HelpMe, email becca.cook@deem.com.

Split Ticketing Savings Threshold

  • Description: When a site has split ticketing enabled, the system will evaluate the itinerary.  If there is a savings of at least $50 by using split tickets, then split tickets will be applied.  If there is not a savings of at least $50, then a single stored fare will be applied.   This applies only when it is a single airline with same fare tier for both flights.
