Enhancements for 2018.1.1 (April, 2018)

HR Feeds and Unused Ticket Feeds Improvement

  • Issue:  Data feeds were experiencing the error of "Failure to connect to remote system."
  • Status: Resolved / Fixed
  • Description:  Server improvements made. 
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required


Change or Cancel Car Service Post Booking

  • Description: Users can now change or cancel car service segments post booking for itineraries including air, car and hotel segments.  Previously, the system prohibited change or cancel on itineraries that included car service along with air and hotel.
  • Site Admin Experience: No configuration required.

Hotel Name Filter

  • Description: A change was made to remove hotel Brand Names from the type ahead list in the hotel name filter.  This makes it  easier for users to find a specific hotel name when searching in a specific city.  
    NOTE:  If the user wants to filter by hotel chain, they simply use the brand name filter instead.  
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required


Private Rate Hotel Policy

  • Description: When your hotel policy is set to require the user to select a private rate property, any hotel that is not a private rate will be displayed as out of policy unless there are no private rate properties available in the city for which the user is searching.  
  • Site Admin Experience:  In Hotel Policy, Require user to select private rates.

      


Car Rental Excise duty/Road fund license fee

  • Description:  A new regulation in the UK requires the system to call  out of the new vehicle excise duty/road fund licence fee (VED/RFL) specifically to users.   The system has been enhanced to display this fee to the user as a tool tip on the trip cost summary, purchase page, as well as in the confirmation email.

Car Rental Passenger Van

  • Description: Updates have been made to the display information off the fullsize passenger van seating capacity.  Previously, the system would always display the capacity as 7 passengers.  Now when it is determined that the capacity is a 15 passenger van, the tooltip will show the capacity as 15 passengers.
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required

Sabre Seat Map Improvement for Business Class in Two Level Airplanes

  • Description: The system has been enhanced the seat map to ensure all seats on all levels are displayed properly with the aisles clearly indicated.   For flights in business class on a plane with two levels, often the aisle would appear to be missing from the seat map.  
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required


Book Again Enhancement

  • Description: When users are attempting to book a reservation again and they no longer wish to include every segment such as a car rental, they can simply click on the "X" on the book again page to remove the undesired segment.  Once they click on search the segment that was deleted will no longer be included in the new search.

Flight Status Text Notifications

  • Issue:   We received several reports of users not receiving text messages for flight status updates and not being able to save their text notification preferences in their profile.  
  • Status:  Fixed
  • Description:  Both issues have been resolved.

Unused Ticket Messaging Improvement

  • Description: When processing a change for a ticket where the change fee is higher than the value of the ticket, the messaging to the user has been updated to advise they will be charged the full value of the new ticket and the original ticket will be sent to the agency for processing.
  • Site Admin Experience: No configuration required.

Unused Ticket Enhancements

  • Description: The system has been updated so that when booking a reservation on an interline itinerary, the unused ticket will be applied based on the plating carrier, not just the carrier for the entire itinerary.  So that if you have an unused ticket on United and you are searching for a flight from San Francisco to Frankfurt where you have United connecting to Lufthansa and you have an unused ticket on United, the unused ticket will now be offered on that itinerary.  Previously, it would have only been offered if all segments were on United.
  • Description:  System settings have been adjusted so that when attempting to upload unused tickets you no longer experience "Failed to connect to remote system." error message.

Dongying Airport (DOY) and Ixtepec (IZT) Added to the system

  • Description: New airport Dongying Airport (DOY) in China and Ixtepec (IZT) in Mexico have been added to the system.

Aberdeen, United Kingdom has been removed from the system

  • Description: Aberdeen Airports codes ZXA and ABZ have been removed from the system as selectable airport or car rental locations as they are not commercial airports and have no supported car rental companies available.

Moxy Hotel Now Supported

  • Description: Moxy Hotels has been added to the Hotel Membership dropdown. Their loyalty program is added under the Marriott Brand.  The "OX" code is also available to be included in the vendor preferences.

Via Airlines Support

  • Description: The system has now been updated to show any flight on VC airlines as Via Airlines vs. Avensa Servivensa Airlines.
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required

Split Ticketing and Multi City Search Enhancement

  • Description: The system has now been updated to display multiple airline options on the third leg of a multi city trip.  Previously, it would be limited to the carrier selected on the outbound flights, but now with multi city searches with Split Ticketing enabled, the user can select from multiple airline options.
  • Site Admin Experience:  Split ticketing enabled on Display Configuration.

Porter Airlines Branded Fares

  • Description: Porter Airlines branded fare labels have now been added to the system to continue to expand our support of branded fares.
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required


Jet Blue Branded Fares

  • Description: The support for Jet Blue branded fares has been removed from the system due to overlapping results when utilizing passenger type codes of AGT and CTZ.  When using the branded fare passenger codes often Government and Military fares would be returned and stored for Jet Blue flights when the user is not eligible for the fares.  When Jet Blue resolves the issue, we will consider adding support back in the system.

Flight Search Type Ahead

  • Description: Train station data has been removed from the type ahead list of options to eliminate the possibility of incorrectly selecting the wrong departure or destination city.

Chrome Browser Enhancement

  • Description: Chrome browsers have been overwriting our system generated type ahead fields on the trip planner page.  When a user starts typing in an airport or train search field on the trip planner page, the browser defaults were being displayed which included both airport and train stations in either field.  We have now blocked the chrome type ahead in order to utilize our smart filters to include either the airport or train stations in the applicable field, not both.

Calendar Update

  • Description: The system has been updated so that when booking a reservation and a segment fails to confirm for some reason, the calendar event is not added to the user's calendar.  Previously, it would be added even if the reservation failed.

Airport Parking Cancellation Announcement

  • Description: An update has been made to messaging to advise users to contact Park N Fly directly to cancel reservations when a cancellation of a reservation fails.
  • Site Admin Experience:  No Configuration Required

Apollo clients only - TASINFO10 - PREVIOUS ENTRY IN PROGRESS error handling

  • Description: The system has been updated so that when the error "TASINFO10 - PREVIOUS ENTRY IN PROGRESS" is received, the system pauses and retries again allowing any bookings in progress to complete without incident.
