The Deem release notes provide useful technical information about the latest release. For each release, the notes provide:

New Features for September 2020 (Release 2020.3.0)

Deem Check-In Service

Deem and Southwest Airlines have changed the automated check-in service and now provide a new process called Deem Check-in Service. Here’s how the Deem Check-in Service works:
  • Travelers will receive an email notifying them to check-in to their Southwest flight 24 hours before their trip 

  • Travelers will click the link to initiate the check-in process

  • Travelers will receive an email confirming their successful check-in and their boarding priority 

Please note:

  • Travelers will also have the option to access the Deem Check-in Service from the Trip Details page on Deem Work Fource 

  • Travelers will be required to opt in for the service for each leg of the trip 

  • Travelers can also visit www.southwest.com to check in 

  • For trips booked prior to September 3, 2020, Southwest automated check-in will apply 

  • For trips booked or changed after September 3, 2020, the new Deem Check-in Service rules will apply 

  • SMS notifications for Deem Check-in Service is now available


Air SafetyCheck for Flight Results 

With Routehappy, Deem now has Airline Reassurance UPAs to provide enhanced contextual flight information, so travelers feel safe and protected as they book flights. 
  • Green Shield icon with SafetyCheck link, which opens modal with airline-specific information and graphics 

  • Ability to scroll for more information and additional airlines

  • There is no additional cost. This new feature will be presented to all Deem travelers, without requiring any additional configuration.

Neighborhood SafetyCheck for Your Location

With Geosure, Deem will now provide Neighborhood SafetyCheck safety scores via a map view, for 65,000+ geographic locations, down to the neighborhood level. The safety assessment, as part of the hotel details page, is based on and includes the following categories: 
  • Nighttime safety (overall safety experienced from dusk to dawn)

  • Physical safety (safety from injury or physical violence) 

  • Theft (safety from personal or community property robbery) 

  • Basic freedoms (safety from government and rule of law threats, political unrest) 

  • Health and medical (safety from illness, water, and air issues) 

  • LBGTQ+ safety (safety from harm or discrimination against LGBTQ+) 

  • Women's safety (safety from mistreatment, unwanted attention, and violence)  

Please Note:

  • Different map layers will allow travelers to select and display various safety score categories (e.g., nighttime safety, physical safety, etc.) 

  • COVID-19 Map: Global map-view will show travelers a visualization down to the county and province level of confirmed cases, deaths, and recoveries. This will also include a resource center with links to COVID-19 information from official sources as well as other resources and ways to help. 

  • There is no additional cost. This new feature will be presented to all Deem travelers, without requiring any additional configuration.

Internet Explorer (IE) Browser Detect

The system will now detect when IE browser is used and will limit access to functionalities that do not work on IE. Users on IE will not experience the following features and updates:
  • New Air SafetyCheck feature with Routehappy Reassurance UPA

  • New Neighborhood SafetyCheck feature

  • New Compare Fares experience with Routehappy UTAs

  • New Hotel Search experience

  • For IE Users: No SafetyCheck links will appear, and the Compare Fares and Hotel Search experiences will display in the original format

Enhancements for September 2020 (Release 2020.3.0)

Change Payment Method for Held Trips

  • Description: Payment Method can now be changed when purchasing a ticket that is on hold

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to change the payment method when submitting a reservation that was on hold

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

Bug Fixes for September 2020 (Release 2020.3.0)

Hold Trip with Unused Ticket 

  • Description: Unused tickets can now be applied to for held trips, when Automated Ticket Exchange is active

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to hold a trip with an unused ticket

  • Site Admin Experience: Contact Deem Customer Support for assistance enabling the configuration

Single Sign-On (SSO) Verbiage

  • Description: The login page verbiage has been changed for SSO travelers

  • Benefit: Travelers will see alternate messages requested by their company on the Activation and Password Reset pages

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

  • Description: The Flights Search Results page has been updated to allow for a new search by clicking the Change link on the page

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to execute a new search by clicking the Change link on the Flight Results page to change Origin, Destination, Dates, or Times

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

  • Description: The Train Search Results page has been updated to allow for a new search by clicking the Change link on the page

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to execute a new search by clicking the Change link on the Train Results page to change Origin, Destination, Dates, or Times

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

  • Description: The Checked Baggage link is now accessible 

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to access the Checked Baggage link 

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

Mobile App: Flight Information for Connection Flights

  • Description: The Flight Search Results page has been updated to display search results correctly

  • Benefit: Travelers will now see flight information displayed correctly on the Flight Search Results page

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

Mobile App: Train Locations Typeahead

  • Description: Typeahead options for airports and train stations are now available 

  • Benefit: Travelers will now see the typeahead options for airports and train stations

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

Mobile App: Checked Baggage Fees

  • Description: Baggage Fee modals are now fixed

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to close Check Baggage Fees page by clicking the Close button

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

One-Way Air Default Alignment

  • Description: The Hotel and Car alignment boxes will now default to unchecked for one-way flights

  • Benefit: Travelers will now see the "Match my Hotel search with my flight dates" box and "Match my Car search with my flight dates" box default to unchecked for one-way flights

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

  • Description: Pagination of Hotel and Car Rental Search Results works on mobile browser

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to click the Next button to go to the next page on Hotel and Car Rental Search Results page

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

Import/Export Contact

  • Description: The Import and Export functions for Address Book contacts have been repaired

  • Benefit: Travelers will now be able to import and export contacts successfully on the Profile page

  • Site Admin Experience: No Admin experience required

BFM Search Results Airline Discounts

  • Description: All Airline discounts will now apply to BFM search results automatically

  • Benefit: BFM travelers will now see improved search results when looking for lowest fares with application of corporate account codes and branded fare codes
