Overview

American NDC content can be configured using Travelfusion, which enables Deem users to shop and book American Airlines NDC content. NDC content provides fares and options which may not be available in the GDS or may be available at a lower cost than the published GDS rates. 

Need to know

  • American Airlines NDC Booking Source: Travelfusion B2B.

  • Available on all GDSs.

  • Branded fares are not required to be configured to configure American Airlines NDC.

  • If the GDS is Sabre, you are not required to have Bargain Finder Max enabled to configure.

  • The following American Airline NDC credentials are required to complete the configuration if you want the ticket issued on your agency’s ticket stock (American Airline B2B).

    • User ID 

    • Password 

    • Agent Identifier 

Configure American Airlines NDC

To configure American Airlines NDC, you must add an ancillary source and then enable web fares.

Add American NDC ancillary source

  1. From the partner dashboard home page, select the Settings link for the site you want to modify.

  1. From the top menu, select the Services tab.

  2. Select Travel Agency.

  3. Select Agency Settings.

  4. Select configuration you would like to update.

  5. At the bottom of the Ancillary Sources table, select Add Ancillary Source.

  6. Enter a source name that describes the ancillary. For example, enter American - NDC.

  7. In Source, select Web: TRAVELfusion.

  8. For airline, select one of the following:

    • American Airlines B2B (requires credentials)

      • You must obtain NDC credentials for user ID, password, and agent identifier to configure. Refer to Credential Request Form.

      • Bookings will be ticketed by AA on the TMC ticket stock; American calls this Neutral Ticketing.

      • Bookings will appear on the TMC ARC reporting data.

        • Allows for a TMC to assist with changes, cancellations, refunds, and exchanges by contacting AA directly.

    • American Airlines

      • Bookings will be ticketed by AA (similar to other how other Travelfusion carriers work).

      • Bookings will not appear on TMC ARC reporting data.

      • TMC will not have the ability to assist with changes, cancellations, refunds or exchanges. You will need to contact the carrier directly.

  9. Enter private rates codes if you have them for the selected airline.

  10. Select a Source Override option.

    • If Replace Primary Source Content is chosen,

      • Search both GDS and American NDC. Results display NDC unless the content for GDS is unique from that of the NDC rate.

      • Select if client prefers to book the American NCD rates when at all possible.

    • If Supplement Primary Source Content is chosen,

      • Search both GDS and American NDC. Results display GDS unless the content for NDC is unique from that of the GDS rate.

      • Select if client prefers to book the GDS rates when at all possible.

    • If Exclude Primary Source Content is chosen, only American Airlines NDC (web fares) will be presented in flight results for American.
      Note: When testing, use the option for Exclude Primary Source Content. Once you have tested and confirmed that web fares are displaying, switch the option whichever the client wants. Save the changes and test again.

  11. Select an option for Would you like the system to add ancillary passive segments to your primary GDS.

    • The option Yes, system generated is recommended.

    • If you choose Yes, using Custom PNR, open a Deem Support Case if you need assistance

  12. Select Save.

Enable web fares

Important: Web fares must be enabled. If you have more than one display setting you will need to update each one separately.

  1. Select the Services menu.

  2. Select Display Configuration.

  3. Select Display Configuration List.

  4. Choose the list you want to modify.

  5. For the Enable airline web fare booking capabilities option,

    • Choose Yes to enable web fare booking. Web fares include VMI Baby, Ryan Air, and EasyJet, American Airlines B2B.

    • Choose No to not allow web fare booking.

  6. Scroll down and select Save. For more information about this page, refer to Display Configurations.

  7. Commit your changes.

Test

Test that American NDC web fares are being returned.

Rate is defined as a Web Fare badge and the rate to the right of the carrier and flight number indicates Main Plus.
