Basic Economy fares are so highly restricted that many corporate clients find that the fare is not worth the savings.   Therefore, Deem offers two options for blocking Basic Economy fares from displaying. Open a case with Deem Support and we will block them for you to have Basic Economy fares blocked.

  • Superdomain level

...

  • : blocks Basic Economy from being displayed on all sites within your Superdomain.

  • Individual site level

...

  • : blocks Basic Economy on a site-by-site basis.

Deem recommends the second individual-site-level option. Restricting at the Superdomain level will block blocks Basic Economy for all of your clients’ sites, not just individual sites.   You may have a client that insists on having Basic Economy displayed, where all others would like them blocked completely. The second option allows for more flexibility between the sites

Helpful Hint: If you are blocking Basic Economy within a site, you may want to add a Dynamic Message indicating that Basic Economy has been removed from your site. Adding this message may help with questions or concerns around why you are not showing the lowest available rate.

Helpful Hint

If you are blocking Basic Economy within a site, you may want to add a Dynamic Message indicating that Basic Economy has been removed from the site. By including a message, you may reduce customer frustration and questions or concerns around why the lowest available rate is not shown, compared to what the user is seeing on an airline’s website.

Example message: Due to the highly restrictive nature of Basic Economy fare we are not showing them on the site, as they do not meet business needs.
